I left Moldova and my family because of poverty to build my life in another country and have a future as an image-maker. In 2020 because of the COVID situation, I couldn’t see my parents for a long time and the feeling of growing apart increased tremendously. By talking about these feelings, I formulated the title of the project: “Growing as a process of separation”.
Victor Pivovarov, an artist and a migrant said In his book The Agent In Love: “Migration is like pulling yourself out of the soil and having the roots hovering in the air.” And being apart from his soil, he started his roots in his childhood memories. This highly resonates with me.
