My name is Dasha Starostin. I am a visual artist from Chisinau, Moldova currently based in Amsterdam.
The subject matters that I address in my art projects revolve around subjects of mental health, migration, family, and feminism.

Transforming my illustrations into 3D objects is an essential part of the creative process - to bring them to life and share with them the hasty breath of this world. I sculpt paper, print on wood, and project animations onto objects. Dimensions of subject matter are metaphorically translated through materials, space, and time.
Exploring the possibilities of analog reproduction fascinates me. During my studies at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, I had an opportunity to share my love and curiosity for the world of printing as a student assistant in the publication workshop. My favorite techniques are laser cutting, sublimation printing, and Riso printing.
Since 2022, my practice also includes curatorship of the Zine Kiosk for the Cross Comix Festival.
My list of clients includes the Dutch National Women's Soccer Team; the 1M youtube travel channel I Want To Go Home, the Rotterdam music festivals Metropolis and Poetry International, De Vrolijkheid
