My name is Dasha Starostin. I am a visual artist from Chisinau, Moldova, currently based in Amsterdam.
The subject matters that I address in my art projects revolve around mental health, migration, family, and feminism.

Transforming my illustrations into analogue objects is an essential part of the creative process - to bring them to life and share with them the hasty breath of this world. I sculpt paper, print on wood, and project animations onto objects. Dimensions of subject matter are metaphorically translated through materials, space, and time.
My favorite techniques are laser cutting, sublimation printing, and Risography.
Since 2022, my practice also includes curatorship of the Cross Comix festival.
In 2024 together with Diede van Ommen we founded Ilustration, small press and riso Studio Vlinderboom.
My list of clients includes the Dutch National Women's Soccer Team; the 1M youtube travel channel I Want To Go Home, the Rotterdam music festivals Metropolis and Poetry International, De Vrolijkheid
